I wished I had known earlier
that life is not so simple.
There is no black and white
and there is no wrong and right.
When you were younger you were taught to categorize things to good and bad because it was easy to comprehend.
But as you grow, you'll realize that it isn't that straightforward.
Whatever decisions you make is a compilation of many occurrences, circumstances and emotions.
I only wish that you are armored with the wisdom and confidence to decipher through your life choices.
I can't give you a manual as to how to live life, because everyone does it differently.
But I hope that however you do choose to live, you are at peace with yourself and happy.
Living life is a lot about "doing you".
It's a lot about finding out what works best for you, and then, to be confident and convicted enough to doing things your way.
I'm not saying that you can live your life with total carelessness with no regards of your actions.
But, don't be afraid to explore uncharted territories.
Whatever you do, keep seeking knowledge and continue to add value to yourself.
Don't worry about failing.
You need to fail a couple of times in order to know what does not work.
Don't be scared about what you're leaving behind, you only move forward.
Don't look at your past mistakes with guilt.
Look at them with pride, knowing that you have learnt and have became better.
As much as you go on your journey in life, I also hope that you be as kind with people as you wish for them to be with you.
Everyone is learning. No matter their age and stature. Everyone is on a journey.
Go conquer life.
Keep learning. Even if you're reading this at 21, or 38, or 89. Everyday is a lesson to be better.

Whether you are visiting Malaysia for the first time, or are a Malaysian, I recommend for you to make your way to PappaRich at least once.
Since 2006, PappaRich has been recreating Malaysian dishes rich in tradition, values and flavors. Many of my friends enjoy going to PappaRich as you can pick from an array of Malaysian delicacies all under one roof. In fact, their 2 new dishes are from Chinese (The Braised chicken) and Malay (The Mee bandung) heritage.
What's a must to do when in PappaRich? Try their famous Stevia White Coffee!
I was invited to be one of the first to try their latest dishes at the PappaRich Scott Garden outlet.
I'll do away with the small talk and get straight into each dish.
1. PappaRich Mee Bandung
Mee bandung originated from Johor, but Papparich has added their own twist to this dish.
PappaRich's Mee Bandung's uniqueness lies in its gravy.
The gravy is created with its own blend of spice and ingredients. It has a very aromatic smell and when eaten together with the noodles, it creates a balance of taste and texture.
How to make any Chinese girl happy: Tasty noodles!
Accompanying the dish are the traditional prawns and hardboiled egg with the addition of fishcakes. Each mouthful with a bit of everything soaked in the gravy is to die for.
2.PappaRich Braised Chicken Rice
The Braised Chicken Rice was the favorite of the two. Best paired with a hot drink for the ultimate homely feel.
Next up, I had a blast from the past. My grandma used to cook the exact dish when I was younger and I loved everything about it.
The PappaRich Braised Chicken Rice is exactly what PappaRich embodies - homemade food reinvented to taste like it just came out from your grandma's kitchen.
This is going to be my favorite dish at PappaRich, apart from their Beef Kway Teow.
This dish is served with the chicken thigh lightly fried and left to braise in delicious chicken gravy before is it served. The rice and Hong Kong Sawi that the dish is served with is also drizzled with the same chicken gravy.
I can't rave enough about this dish. My only qualm was that it wasn't boneless chicken that they used, but to each of their own. This is definitely a must try when you visit PappaRich- a true Chinese homemade dish.
** The Mee Bandung and Braised Chicken Rice is only available in certain PappaRich outlets but will we served nationwide by teh 22nd of May.

This is a really SUPER delayed post that I've been meaning to write for months now.
I moved into my new place in April (yes, I'm aware that it is September now) and wanted to share some parts of it with all of you.
My new place is a beautiful 1,085 sq fully furnished apartment close to the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms , an open kitchen , dining and living area and a laundry room.
I was really lucky to find it because I got a really good deal with rent and it was a way better improvement from my old place. My favorite thing about it is the view I get every night!
Because of obvious security and privacy reasons, I can't tell you the location of the apartment or show you every part of the place. This is also in respect to my housemates who share the space with me. But what I can show you freely is my room!
So I love my room and everything but a couple of concerns came up:
Then I was introduced to Curtains Place.
They do curtains for the famous names in Malaysia such as Amber Chia and Ning Baizura.
Yes, Amber Chia has a full blown picture of herself in her living room.
If I looked that good, I would do the same.
Both picture taken from Curtains Place
Seeing their impressive clientele , it surely tickled my interest but it also made me a little skeptical. I mean, all the curtains looked so posh and elegant but most importantly, EXPENSIVE. And I don't think it would fit with a young adults salary like mine.
No money problems.
Mr Jason, the director of Curtains Place, reassured me telling me that Curtains Place had something for everyone or any budget. He invited me to their showroom in Kota Damansara for a visit.
The showroom itself blew me away. I was expecting to just see heaps and heaps of curtains and fabric everywhere. Instead , Curtains Place managed to show how their curtains would look like in a home, together with furniture , carpets , deco and everything.
Take all my money and just go!
There's literally something for everyone in the Curtains Place showroom.
So with that all said and everything looking nice the question was still "Is any of this for me?".
I mean everything was pleasing to my eyes but I know my apartment didn't have such high ceilings, and I definitely did not have such atas looking furniture. So what's the point of having such classy curtains if my space does not look equally as classy?
That is when they showed me the before and after pictures of some of their clients (They have a whole photo album of them).
It turns out that curtains alone could change the entire feel of the room. You don't even need to buy luxurious furniture to match it if you pick the right curtains.

I was sold. I was getting curtains for the very first time in my life. I also felt very grown up.
The next thing to do was to choose my fabric, colors and style. I was introduced to an ambassador of Curtains Place when I entered the showroom. She guided me through the entire process of choosing my curtains and made sure I was comfortable.
All the patterns and colors to choose from!
And look at all the ways you can accessorize your curtains. So many choices!
We decided on two layers. The first would be an airy white curtain that was light and easy for sunlight to pass through and the other would be a heavy blackout curtain that would stop any light from coming into the room.
At first I choose a really safe earth color because I was afraid that colored curtains would stand out too much and make my already small room look cluttered. Overhearing this,Mr Jason advised me to rethink my choice. He told me that colored curtains could really change the feel of entire room. Seeing that he is the expert, I took his advice and decided on pastel blue curtains.
The fabrics that I chose in the end
With that they chose the most fuss free fabrics that needed little to no maintenance for me.
Then came the day for the installation. I was so excited. I was told that simple small changes like curtains could bring big changes to a room.
The actual installation didn't take long. They added extra railings for my curtains and set everything up for me. Everything took less than an hour - they worked so fast!
And the result? HOMAIGOWD
Doesn't the curtains just look so princessy? Dream come true!
Such a big difference from my curtain-less room!
The best part is that the Curtains Place installers even cleaned up before they left! They vacuumed my floor and everything so it was as clean (or cleaner) than when they first installed it.
Okay you might say, I edited my photos to make it look better, Nah, give you unedited photo!
Still looks just as good!
I mean, I never knew that I needed curtains before this, but now that I have them, I'm never turning back.
Look at the pretty pleats!
Both fabrics has proven to be phenomenal! The first see through layer gives my room such an airy feel. While the second fabric just blocks out all sun! I've been able to sleep late on the weekend so much more easier.
The curtains even go well with me bedding and rugs!
Let's just say that the conclusion of this is that you may not think that you need curtains, but believe me, you do. And when you decide to. Curtains Place is where to get them.
